According to Fox News
on April 20, 2009; Drug Courts / DUI Courts typically have a failure
rate of 50% and out of the 50% that do complete the grueling 18 month program,
only 40% of the original participants that started actually do not re-offend.
This is a 60% failure rate.
These statistics were
presented as coming from a national survey of drug courts / DUI courts
and was reported as being across the board and including Missouri which
has the largest most widespread number of city and country drug courts.
